Hi hope you can help. I'm mailing you from England I am searching for a lady named Janice Anderson.  I am told Janice lives with her husband Andy in Hilton Head. The e-mail address I have is no longer active and I am trying every possible way to contact them and I wondered if you could help? (andreahorn@hotmail.co.uk).
I would like to place a thank you and inquiry which would read:

I would like to thank the Hilton Head visitor and residents who helped my daughter on July 30th when she was struck by a truck on her bicycle at the Kangaroo station near Palmetto Dunes.  Your comfort and quick efforts to locate our family and call for help was deeply appreciated by our family.  We would like to contact you and our daughter would like to thank you herself.  If you are able, please contact hiltonheadisland.com  for our address and phone number. Sincerely, The Fetterolf Family (FETTER007@aol.com). Thanks again.  My daughter is 16 and improving in her condition here in Pittsburgh.

Good morning, I intend to spend 5 days in south Caroline with my family and I would like to rent a villa or a condo from august 13. We are 2 adults and 3 children (17,15,8). Do you have any available villa or condo for this period ? What is your best rate ? Do you offer any discount to airline staff  (both my husband and myself are working for Air France)? best regards, Christine Ferry (Christine Ferry)

Hello, We are a property owner of Hilton Head Island and we will be visiting in early August. I have called High Tide Entertainment numerous times with no response back. (843-671-5121). I have left numerous messages and I haven't heard from anyone. Do you know what the concert series is this summer? As I recall from last year, they had one in August. Could someone please direct me in the right direction for more information? Thank You, Tina Conradi (Conradi@fuse.net).

(July 19, 2007) My food recommendations for HHI include she-crab soup at the Crazy Crab or Hudsons, happy hour outside at theBoathouse, happy hour inside at Frankie Bones and dinner at Antonios or Bonefish Grill.  Get a dining guide (available at various locations on the island) and check the menus for what you like.  There are many good places to eat.  Spice is a different place if you like Indian food.  Good seafood is at the Sea Shack if you can wait in the long line.  The best frozen custard is at Coligny Plaza, a close second is Ritter's.  The best websites for all information is hiltonheadisland.com, hhisland.com, and hiltonheadisland.org (francene@charter.net).

My family and others will be visiting the Island the week of 8/18.  Are there any places on the island that we can pitch horseshoes There is a standing rivalry between families. Are there pits in the public parks. Our rental home is oceanfront - can we build a pit there if necessary? Thanks JM (saintpaulbaptistchurch@verizon.net <saintpaulbaptistchurch@verizon.net>).

I just wanted everyone to know how GREAT our family trip to Hilton Head was. We come just about every Summer to visit and are always so pleased with everything from the dining to the things to do.

One of the newest things we tried this year was the Palmetto Ferry Bluffton Trip. It was soooo nice. We all had a great time. The kids were able to watch for dolphins as we rode the ferry down the river. When we got off in Bluffton it was so nice to see and learn about all the historical churches and homes. It truly is a very beautiful place. All of the captains and mates aboard the ferry were very friendly, and able to answer all of our questions. (As you know kids they are full of them ) I was like doing so many things in one trip.
There are just so many things to do on HHI and we look forward to coming back again next year, and will hopefully get to go on the Palmetto Ferry trip to Beaufort as they were saying is starting soon.
I would encourage all who visit to take a great trip like this. It was Great fun for the entire family.
Can't wait to see everyone and this beautiful island again next Summer!!!

We currently bring tour groups to Hilton Head every year and we have an old VHS tape and would like to request a DVD to show on our motor coaches and for future tour planning.  (Laura Murray)

Are there any party fishing boats at the island.  Saw charter boats but couldn't find any party boats.  Please advise. Thanks, Bill (Stainus1@aol.com).

We will be vacationing on the island the first week of July & are wondering where we can see a fireworks display on July 4th. Thanks Sue (suep101@verizon.net).

My family and I spend a week every summer at Hilton Head.  We have always rented a house on Palmetto Dunes and this years we are giving Sea Pines a try.  Unfortunately my husband has had some major surgery and he will not be as mobile as in years past.   I am hoping you can direct me to a dealer that would be able to rent  an electric cart for him to use to get around the resort.  As we travel from PA.  by car, bringing one from home would not be an option.  I would appreciate any help you are able to give me in this matter. Thank you, Michelle Manzo (michelle.e.manzo@aexp.com).

Hello, I've vacationed on HHI many times over the years. I love the island. I love South Carolina. I'm thinking of relocating somewhere south. I currently live in Wisconsin. I will be looking for a new job after August 07 because our plant will be closing. I worked for same employer for 23 years. I'm hoping a local resident reading this looking for a very reliable person to fill a job will contact me. My dream would be to find a decent paying job in Hilton Head. I've had experience in leadership roles with production company (Fortune 100). Mechanically inclined. Limited experience in home remodeling, landscaping. If you know of anyone looking for very hard working, healthy, reliable person for a job I would very much appreciate you contacting me. (BGEENEN@new.rr.com).

My family will be vacationing in Folly Field, Beach and Tennis Resort next month.  I was reading some literature and found there is a Waterfun Waterslide Park, but I cannot find the address.  Can you help?  I want to know how far the travel would be to visit the park from where we will be staying.  Also, what about the Coastal Discovery Museum? Thanks, S.Turner (sabrina_turner@sbcglobal.net).

Are there French conversation or other interest groups on the Island? We have visitors whose son studies French and would like practice. Michael Harrison (michaelharrison@juno.com).

Will be visiting HHI the week of July 23rd, staying at the HH beach and Tennis resort.  We have a 17 year old and a 12 yr old. We always do putt putt on vacations, any suggestions?  What other activities does anyone recommend?  My husband and son usually go fishing.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank You (tmartin-myers@camfabinc.com).

Any advice is appreciated it will be our first trip to Hilton Head. Thanks, Bethany (bethanyfrance@hotmail.com).

Hi - I have a group coming down to HHI in early June and was wondering if you could mail me 15 copies of the 101 Things to Do in Hilton Head magazine and any other print material that might be appropriate. If you can, send them to: Kelley Gottschang, 1443 Marlboroug, Ann Arbor, MI 48104 Thanks, Kelley (gottkell@wccnet.edu).

Hello, Can you please tell me if you have handicap access to the beach?  My little brother is in a wheelchair and we would need to be able to use the chair to get him to the water. Thank you very much for your time, Tina M Dusablon (tdusa01).

I am looking for Yoga classes during the week of May 14, 2007. Staying at Grand Ocean Resort by Marriott  near Sea Pines. Thank you, Ellen (Ronald Gross).

Hi I was just wondering if grilling was permitted on the beach? Please let me know! Thank you,Ronald (oct11luv@hargray.com).

My wife and I have gone to HHI every August from 1995-2002. Then we had our first child and have not gone back until we thought he was old enough to enjoy it. Well, we are very happy we are finally going back this year, this time with our son who is 4 years old now. I can't wait to get there. We are staying in Sea Pines (The best resort I think) near Harbor Town! I cant wait to ride bikes around the Island, sip on some cool drinks, and lay on the beach! It is truly a wonderful place to be! Ryan Mathis (rmathis3@ford.com).

Hi, I was wondering about the 11th annual "RIB BURNOFF". We will be visiting the Island May 5th to the 12th. I hope we don't miss it. I would love to hear about any other events similar to this one. We always look forward to our visits to The Island. We are in the Northeast and it has been a bit gloomy here as of late. I am dreaming of a day at the beach. I really appreciate any suggestions. Thank you and have a beautiful day. Terri (millmah2@verizon.net ).

We will be visiting HHI the second week in July. We exchanged through RCI timeshares for a unit in building 100 at Port o' Call at Shipyard Plantation.  It is rated highly at RCI, but this is our first visit.  If you know about this resort, we'd like your comments.  We would have preferred an ocean-front, but none were available when we reserved. Also, any suggestions on how to get to (& park near) nearby beaches, good restaurants, other activities for the "mature" set.  Also, any tips for taking day-trips to Savannah or Charleston, etc. or any other general advice.  Is there accessible public transportation? Thanks! (busternfruss@yahoo.com).

Could someone please tell me if there is a good fishing pier at Hilton Head? (Linda ).

Dear Hilton Head. I'm  coming in the Month of (April 20th to the 27th) with my brother and his wife and my little "niece."  She will turn 2 yrs old on the 22nd of April. Hello, I plan to visit parts of South Carolina at the end of April 2007. Could you please provide me with information and some details about available  public transportation from Charleston S.C to Hilton Head, zip 29925 where I will

I am trying to locate photos of 'The Angela Bacari Show', this band performed at Club Indigo at the Hyatt on Hilton Head Island  between 1977-1980.

I am trying to locate photos of Angela Bacari and or her with her band members.  Please let me know if you can help me or direct me to some one who might be able to help me. Thank You in Advance, Angela Marie (angelamarie@missangelamarie.com).

A visitor for over 30 years, Hilton Head (especially Sea Pines) holds great sentimental value for me.  My father first introduced me to this beautiful place when I was a young teen.  He owned a home and land on the island, but became ill and passed away.  My dream is to retire there (the sooner the better).  My wish is simple:  a place with two bedrooms and two baths.  Clean, nice, and close to the beach.  I can't afford the $400,000 price tag on the Bluff Villa I wish to own.  Any help or suggestions are welcome.  Ann C.(annc999@yahoo.com). Powder Springs, GA

My husband and I are looking to relocate our family to the Hilton Head area.  We are both searching for jobs.  He is a certified PE teacher and also has experience as a PGA assistant golf professional.  I am also a certified teacher K-8.  Anyone who can send us info about job openings is greatly appreciated.  We've searched on the internet, but know that there is more out there!  Thank you.  Email me at ncompton23@yahoo.com.

On 20 Jan 2007, I took my family down from Augusta, GA to see an experience HHI.  I have fond memories of HHI with my grandparents and mother.  Since I'm in the military;  I don't know if I'll be in this part of the world again, so I figure a great day at HHI was appropriate.

My family and I had a great time, loved the shops, the people, and the beach.  My family like HHI so much so, told me it was the best beach they had ever been too. We've been all over the world Korea, Japan, Hawaii, and the Southeastern U.S.

Everything couldn't be perfect, and I was happy to find your web site, and learn that many other people have had the same experience at the "Crazy Crab" (William Hilton Pwy), like us.  Bad service, rude waiter, and endless waiting.  Isn't there any professional standards there? It's not like it was when my grandparents and I went there.

I will return to HHI, before I'm to deploy again, and have a wonderful time with my family.  I'll never eat the the Crazy Crab again though. Jay Price. Augusta, GA

Hi, After nine years in Hermosa Beach, CA (just south of LA - see link below), I have returned to the east coast.  I loved the small-town, beachy-casual yet upwardly mobile social lifestyle afforded in Hermosa Beach. I would like to find an east coast beach city with a similar vibe and a friend recently recommended that I consider Hilton Head Island. CITY OF HERMOSA BEACH, CA http://www.hermosabch.org/.

I landed on your website after surfing for pictures of the area.  I see that you are in the process of posting a new gallery... any other site that you would recommend in the meantime?

I am also wondering about the lifestyle, culture and demographics of the area.  Some of that I can find on-line in statistical information, but I am more curious to hear what people have to say.  Words can't replace an actual visit, of course, but I thought I'd start here and see if you'd be able to offer some insight or point me in the right direction.

I am 31 years old with a background in marketing, event planning and community relations.  I am looking for an area that offers plenty of outdoor recreation opportunities as well as shops, good restaurants, decent nightlife and a sizable young, single professional crowd.

Hermosa Beach had a very active "strand" (concrete strip that ran along the beach) where people ran, biked, roller-bladed, etc. Off of this were several shops, bars, restaurants, spas, yoga studios, coffee shops, etc. that truly catered to the local community and weren't tourist traps.  Everything was a walk or leisurely bike ride away and that is what I am trying to find on the east coast.

I'd appreciate any feedback or insight you would be willing to offer. Or, if you think appropriate, please feel free to forward my email to someone else who you feel would be a good resource. Thanks for your time. Sincerely, Jill Johnson (Jill Johnson <jilljohnson829@yahoo.com>.

I am going to be moving to Hilton Head very soon and am wondered if anyone on the island reads these pages and would care to share some information with me.  I am widow, do not know very many people and am really apprehensive about it.  I am wondering what retired single people do on the island.  clubs? groups that meet?  line dancing?  I would like to meet some women who could share friendships.  I like to play cards, golf, beach it, line dance walk, shop, drink coffee in the mornings and wine at night.  Will look forward to hearing from you. Sue (dragonflies619@aol.com)

Hello!  My family is visiting Hilton Head over the Thanksgiving holiday.   We've been to Hilton Head numerous times, but our vacations were always in the summer.  I'd like to know if there are any kinds of Christmas activities for the grand kids or for any of us.  Someone told me that South Beach has a Christmas theme this time of year.  Any help on where to go?  Thanks.  Cathy Wisniewski (dwiz@zoominternet.net).

I am trying to find a telephone number for Truffle's Restaurant and would appreciate you forwarding it to me. I am looking for restaurants that will be open for lunch on Thanksgiving Day - suggestions welcomed. Thank you, Minta225LL@aol.com.

My wife and I are regular visitors to Hilton Head but mainly in the spring / summer months. This year, we are celebrating the holidays with another couple in Sea Pines. Does anyone have any experience with this time of year, hints on "cant' miss" holiday events, etc? Thanks. Mike Lindsay (mlindsay@geotransinc.com).

I am related to the British Discoverer of Hilton Head Island. In changing my genealogy over to new computer, I misplaced the info on William Hilton re his birth and Death dates.  Could you please be able to send me any data regarding this info to me  at  tinym81@nb.sympatico.ca . Thank you very much for the help with this.  Sincerely Yours,  Paul Morris Hilton.

I am the nephew of Wayne A Bucher, DDS.  He did have a practice in Hilton Head area but the only phone number I had is disconnected.  I am trying to make contact with him and would appreciate any/all help you can provide.   Please email me if you have any information on him.  Thank you for your assistance. Bob Bucher (BobBucher@aol.com).

We saw a bill board advertising the Vienna Boys Choir on US 278; can you please advise when and where they are performing and how we might obtain tickets? Bal Kakaria (kakariab@sympatico.ca).

I am looking for the location on Hilton Head Island (either a historical society, library or geneological society) which might hold papers from families from Connecticut dating to the 1700s. At one point a visitor came through our Museum and mentioned that his family had donated papers of either John Webb (1758-1824) or Simeon Deane (1750 - ??) to an organization on Hilton Head. I would appreciate your heading me in the right direction.

1) Where can we find a listing of all of the marinas (with addresses and phone numbers) within a 100 radius mile distance of Hilton Head?

2) Is Savannah the closest airport to Hilton Head? What airlines fly into Savannah from Sacramento, Ca?
3) What is the closest airport that Southwest Airlines flies into near Hilton Head from Sacramento, Ca (and do you know the driving distance from the airport(s) that Southwest flies into)?
4) Does Hilton Head newspaper or marinas have a distribution list of boats for sale?
 5) We will be coming to Hilton Head end of October and first part of November 2006, what warmth and layer of clothing should we bring? (Veronica.Higgins@TheMentorNetwork.com).

We are planning our annual vacation to Hilton Head in early June, but we are wondering if the beach renourishment project will be underway and if it will affect us as it did in 1997--constant noise, especially at night, parts of beach inaccessible, etc.  We will be staying at Palmetto Dunes, near ocean. Any info you can provide ASAP will be helpful, as we are about to make our reservations!

Thanks (lfricke@kc.rr.com).

Happy New Year! We would like some brochures sent to us on your resorts and golf packages.
Please send to; Kim Muller 3318 McAdam Road, Cuba City, WI 53807. Thank you.

Hello - I am looking for a beachfront rental home for our vacation in '06.  Just my husband and I, but looking for privacy.  Any recommendations out there?  Something close to attractions?  Thanks,  JM  (bannyleggs@wmconnect.com).

Hi. I'm trying to find information on getting to HH from the Savannah airport.  Any help out there?

I just read where Fitzgerald's closed.  How sad.  I've been going there every visit since I first went to the Island in 1985.  I will miss their filet mignon with béarnaise sauce, the hummingbirds at the side window and the cute tree frog who hung out on the window last year throughout our dinner.  Best wishes to everyone associated with the restaurant.  You will be missed. SMBM/Ohio.

Hello, My name is Alex. I am going to have a time share in Hilton Head Island during the end of May (06). I was wondering about the island's night life like clubs, pubs, and restaurants that are realistic for college students bank account and liking. I am also interested in if possible swimming with dolphins and shark fishing. If you could point me in the right direction to finding information on these topics that would be great. Thanks Alot. Alex Stavrianidis(astavria@student.umass.edu).

Where would a couple who likes to dance (mainly 50's & 60's ole fashion rock & roll) go on New Year's Eve?
We use to go to the formal event they had for years in the ballroom at the Hilton Hotel in Palmetta Dunes, but they haven't done that for a while. Thanks (Don & Rubye Day [deraday@netscape.net]).

DO YOU KNOW WHERE I CAN ORDER A HILTON HEAD CALENDAR/  THANKS    Roxann2216@columbus.rr.com.

Hello, My name is Jason Adams and my wife and I just moved to the area from Atlanta, GA where I have been in real estate for the past 7 years.  I have had experience in on-site sales as well as the last few years in general brokerage.  Now that we are living on the coast I am looking to get into property management with a successful reputable firm.  I am very good at dealing with people.  I have sold close to 30 million in real estate and I am 31 years old.  I am used to working 70+ hours a week so schedule is not a problem. Do you currently have any property management positions available?  If not, do you have any advice on where I might look? Thank you for your time and any and all consideration. Thanks Again, Jason Adams

Hi! Our family is going to be in HHI for the week of Thanksgiving.  Any suggestions for what NOT to miss?  We've been to Beaufort before, and Savannah....so we're also looking for day trips in the area.  Looking forward to doing a Ghost Tour in Savannah, but not sure which company to make reservations with. If you only had 5 days in the area....what would you NOT miss??  Our interests vary from shopping to historical tours. Thank you!  You can email me direct at lvflamingoz@yahoo.com. Mary

We are planning a trip to Hilton Head Island later this year and would like to find a good place to board our 10 year old Westie. We would like to be able to take him out of boarding for a few hours each day and bring him back to be boarded each night. Please reply with recommendations to gecurrie@bmts.com.

Do you have horseback riding on the island? If so, please link me to that information. Thank you (KPortzen@capitalnewspapers.com).

Would you have any information on Thumbprints, a framing shop that is no longer in business?
They had completed, paid for work, that has not been returned to their customers. Thank you for any information you can provide (william.s.newton@bankofamerica.com).

Do you have any maps that show all the hotels etc on Hilton Head Island.  I would like to see were they all are in relation to each other ie: distance etc.(dllamb@sio.midco.net).

We made reservations at the Hilton Head Marriott Resort & Golf, after reading some not so favorable reviews?  Has anyone stayed there recently and can comment on their stay.  Thank you kindly (Whod819@aol.com).

A friend and I will be in Savannah, Georgia and will come to Hilton Head.  Is this the nearest airport to take a flight to Memphis,TN? Thank you, Linda Compton (Compdreams@aol.com).

Hello, We are planning our vacation this year to the Island on Easter.. April 15-22,2006.. Can anyone tell us about the weather and things to do that time of year.. We usually visit in July and October.. Thanks again.  Cathy from Jamestown NY (exped@madbbs.com).

I would like to make a statement to all visitors of Hilton Head Island who complain about the food , service and prices of activities on the Island. As an avid Island visitor for the last 10 years I have been able to do my homework when it comes to Hilton Head. When in doubt about where to eat , what to do ask a local. I have found some of the most pleasant out of the way Restaurants by asking. Seafood, Captain Woodys, the best fresh fish on the Island. Italian, Little Venice in Shelter Cove, pricey but great food. New York deli, Shelter cove, great Sandwiches. Suds and Subs Coligny Plaza, small but good , Earl of Sandwich, real Good. One place only for happy Hour, Aunt Chiladas, the best. So for all you people who find it necessary to bash Steamers and other name places like that look for the smaller restaurant that doesn't have an hour or two wait, get The vacation Magazine and search through it for early bird specials , better yet have it delivered, some of the best Restaurants deliver. Try Stacks for breakfast, not the Hilton Head Diner or one of the other fancy breakfast places, one of the best on the Island is The Plantation Deli in Heritage plaza. You want great shrimp, stop just before going over the bridge and buy some fresh shrimp, absolutely mouth watering, of course you have to cook, but you can eat at your leisure. . Whole Main Lobster, $13.95 Fitzgeralds early bird till 6PM. Any Questions- papajim1126@yahoo.com. 8/2005 As far as activities, just do what comes naturally, planning activities in Hilton head can be mind blowing. Relax, and set a spell, it will be over before you realize what you did. Oh my last advice , never ever eat at the Salty Dog, they sell tee-shirts not good food. James Scolaro (Scolaro_J@ccbmrdd.org).

I like your site. It is helpful. It would be great if people posted dates when they leave messages so we know when they were at HHI. Thanks (michele_223@hotmail.com).

My husband and I will be leaving shortly for HHI and I have read all of the postings on this site, however, nothing has been said about dress codes for the various restaurants.  Since it is a beach resort, should I assume that casual attire is acceptable at most restaurants?  What about upscale restaurants -- jacket/tie or just business casual?  Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you!  By the way, this website is awesome! (jrrosen@ezonline.com).

HI - MY BOSS IS VACATIONING ON HILTON HEAD AND I WOULD LIKE TO SEND HIS FAMILY A GIFT BASKET -- PLEASE FORWARD SOME SUGGESTION -- CAN BE FRESH FRUIT OR OTHER GOURMET ITEMS THANKS. ARLENE PATERNOSTRO (Arlene.Paternostro@ros.com).

Can anyone help me? I recently vacationed in Palmetto Dunes on Hilton Head Island.  It was beautiful and our family had a great time!  We met several wonderful people and families and exchanged addresses and phone numbers.  We are trying to locate one friend we made but cannot find their address.  They stayed in the Captain's Walk (as did we), but I have searched the internet for the rental company that handles their unit, 463, but cannot find them.  Does anyone know how I can find the owners or rental company for 463 Captain's Walk?  Please help.  My email address is (julesww1@comcast.net).

Hello, I have searched through your website and do not see what I am looking for. Maybe you can help? I live out of state, and my parents own a townhouse on Shipyard Plantation. They are just there for a few months out of the year. I am looking for a landscape company to do some work, inside their courtyard. Can you please furnish me a listing of landscapers on the Island, or guide me to who can? We are trying to do something special for them, for their 50 wedding anniversary. I would greatly appreciate your help. Thank you. Sincerely,  Janet McGlamory 813-671-0600 (JAMMCGLAM@aol.com).

How far to hilton head from waynesville,n.c.? (Oswaldoslyva@aol.com).

We are thinking of coming to Hilton Head in January 06. We love the beach and are not tennis buffs, so think it would be lovely. But are things open and available? We would love to get some help on this. Anne Oney 1708 Talon Ave. Henderson, NV 89074 916-580-4595 (anne_oney@yahoo.com).

I am a resident of Savannah. All my life I have been going to the beach near Coligny Plaza and now that my children are getting older I would like to go to other beaches. Do you know where I can get a map of the beaches of HHI? Thanks. Scott McKeever (scott@globalsecurityserv.net).

I was looking for some Information on Campgrounds on the Island Please (HEIDIDIDEE@aol.com).

I'm about to visit Hilton Head and staying in Sea Pines Plantation. I'm struggling to find out where on the island I can get broadband Internet access at a café or library, or where-ever.  Preferably this would be a computer already set up for high speed that I could use for a short time while there on vacation for personal business reasons. The Hilton Head library is a long way from Sea Pines distance-wise…is there an internet café or other type of place offering high-speed internet access near the southern tip of the island? I've been searching all over the internet and cannot find a thing. Thanks for your help! Doug Gibeaut (dgibeaut@ups.com).

Does any one know a work out facility on HHI that we could use (for a fee) during our vacation week on HHI?  We would like a work out room with weight machines, bar bells and dumb bells. Do the nice hotels allow non-guests to use their work out rooms?  Susan (Francis965@aol.com).

Is there a florist shop on the island? I would like to send flowers to special friends for their 50th wedding aniversary. CEP (CEPeary@aol.com).

We are considering the palmetto dunes area, either the hampton, barrington arms, or villamare.  Do you have any comments, suggestions, criticisms, recommendations, etc.  thank you (reiki4u@adelphia.net).

I'm looking for good independent bookstores on Hilton Head and the surrounding areas (Savannah, etc.) that sell new and/or used books. All suggestions are appreciated though I'm most interested in places that carry titles from academic presses. Please email me at swedel@hotmail.com. Thanks. Shawn Wedel St. Louis, MO (swedel@hotmail.com).

Hello!  I am a single mother of two teenagers and am bringing my children and their two friends to the Sea Side Villas in August, located between Coligny Beach and Sea Pines, I believe - - the South beach area?  I have not seen any information in all of my searches as to beach safety and/or life guarded situations.  My children are aware of rip tides and changes in color on the ocean, as we usually do Myrtle Beach.  I am used to the safety of having a lifeguard on site, and I would like to know if anyone knows anything about the beach at the Sea Side Villas and whether there are lifeguards there? Thank you, Melissa Kaspar (kaspar@columbus.rr.com).

Hi!  I’m visiting HHI for the first time this summer.  Your website is very helpful, but I’m looking for a place to keep my boat for the week.  The condo we have rented does not allow boat parking nor do they have storage area.  Do you have any info on where I might can keep it during the week while we are not using it? Thanks, George (gmparten2@olin.com).

Our family is coming to HHI July 02-09.  My son has to take a Spanish final online July 08. Where could he go to accomplish this?  We are staying at Land's End in Sea Pines.Thanks. E Milam (milam11@charter.net).

My family is looking at coming to HHI for vacation this year, (it will be our first time) My husband would like to know the cost of fishing licence? he is impressed with the info, he seems to of collected. please let us know promptly, for we are looking to make our final decision as where to go within a day or two. Thank you. Faye Coppage (coppage5@earthlink.net).

I am trying to find out about the Boardwalk. I understand the Headliners band performs there and we are interested in attending but do not know where it is located or exactly what it is. Is it a outdoor facility and how do we get there? Thank you (jmb34@pineland.net).

Hello there, I need some help. We are a group of Europian students & we would like to get some information about the place where we can stay in the Hilton head at least for 2 days. We are not millionaires so we  would like our hotel be not a very expensive spot. My name is Vera & I have been there last year but I am not a pro in finding a nice & rather cheap hotel (from July31-3 August). I would also like to know how can we get to Hilton Head from Cleveland, GA. I would appreciate all kind of information. Hope to hear from you soon. Sincerely,Vera  Leonik(nivea_1984@yahoo.com).

Please help me! We are coming to Hilton Head on July 16-23. I am looking to rent a beach wheelchair while we are there for my husband. Can you let me know if there is anywhere on the island that rents beach wheelchairs? Thank you! Gina Pickett Roswell, GA (gpickett1@charter.net)

We have a five month old Yorkshire terrier and hate to leave her home. Is there a good place to keep her on the island as our condo is no pets? She is tiny 4 pounds and I considered sneaking her in. Do they have kennels on the island? Also, last year our new Honda van was vandalized in the parking garage of our condo. Is this trouble common at S Forest Beach? We love HHI and have been coming since I was little! (michele_223@hotmail.com).

Could you give me suggestions on boarding my dog on the island. I am coming down in July. Thanks, Tori Bowie (toribowie@copper.net).

Hi, Any idea of how I might find out if there are any running races while we are vacationing in Hilton Head?  We will be there 6/10.

We have been coming to HHI for several years now. We love it.  We have three boys ages 10,8 and 5.  There is always plenty for us all to do.  My youngest son is obsessed with shell this year.  We have some we have collected from Florida in the past that he has been facinated with.  He can't wait to go to the beach (HHI) to find shells.  From past experience I know there are not many shells like that to collect.  Is there anywhere on the island or surrounding areas where there are more shells than other parts? He expects to find the Florida type shells which I have never seen in HHI.  We stay at the Hilton Head Beach Villas by the Adventure Inn.  Any feedback would be great. We will be down the week of July 9th (RSSTRAUSE@aol.com).

My husband and another couple were on your beautiful island the week of May22nd.  On May 25th we went to Driessen Park Beach at around 6:00pm.  While we were walking the beach (for about a half hour) our locked car was broken into. My friend and I had foolishly left our purses under our seats and they were both stolen.  When the officer arrived to take our statements, he led us to believe that this was not a safe beach, parking lot, or area of Hilton head and confirmed that we were not the first ones to have this happen at Driessen Park Beach.

It was our own fault that our purses were stolen but I think that maybe you could  post “Do not leave valuables in vehicle” signs around the this particular lot. We love your island and will definitely return but our vacation was only half over and we had to return to Illinois.  No money, no credit cards, no ATM,s and a huge broken window on our car. Please consider my suggestion. Mary Pearson (maryp@bluegoosemarket.com).

Can anyone tell me what rental company has the homes on the beach at Singleton Beach?  I an interested in renting one and have no idea who to contact.

Where on the website should I look for fun activities aka bars/clubs for kids in there 20's (lower 20's)? We'll be there July 21st. (John_Mady@tufts-health.com).

My family and I have been coming to Hilton Head each June for five years now. We love the quiet atmosphere of this beach community. One of our absolute favorites restaurants is Las Palapas, a small Mexican restaurant quietly tucked away off Pope Avenue near Sea Pines Circle. Their food is the most authentic Mexican we have ever had. We suggest having the pollo con mole or the enchiladas, and don't forget a sangría to make the meal perfect. It is worth the work of finding it. Even my 4 year-old twins love this place!! Que sabroso! D.Jung Munson; Atlanta, GA (dmmmj@comcast.net).

We are going to be coming to the Island for our fifth visit and have always traveled to our destination in a car.  This time we are going to be traveling in a forty to forty-four foot motor home.  I am curious to know if we have to park the motor home in a special place or are we allowed to park it at the house we have rented?  I do not expect to drive it every place we go, just to and from the Island.  We are staying in Sea Pines by the horse ranch.  Would appreciate a response to this question as soon as you can get me an answer.  My e-mail address is jkrug4@hotmail.com. Thankyou. John

I intend to spend the whole month of January 2006 on the island. I would like to know what live entertainment such as theatre, orchestral, etc. types of entertainment is scheduled for January 2006. I would also like to know what live entertainment events took place in January 2005. Thanks (estrolovitch@rha.ca).

What activities or celebrations does the Island have for the July 4th celebration???? Thanks you! (lyahnke@ev3.net).

Good morning! Our family will be visiting Hilton Head in a couple weeks and we are interested in taking a dolphin tour. We are thinking about one of the zodiac tours - either Commander Zodiac or Island Explorer. My wife and I have 3 children ages 11, 9, and 4. Do you have any advice or opinion for what might be the better tour to take. Thank you very much! Merle Schreur (Merle.Schreur@royal-plastics.com).

I was on the island recently and saw in the Island Packet that there is a summer concert series.  The ad did not say where.  I unfortunately forgot the newspaper.  Is there a concert series on the island and, if so, where can I obtain information about them? (LRuef@iiabsc.com).

My name is Vicki Hookey & my family & I are planning to relocate to the Bluffton/Hilton Head area & we would like to check on some rental homes.  We need a 3BR w/1-2 bathrooms.  Please let me know if you have any available.  My email address is VAHookey@Yahoo.com.

I have been trying to find out about HILTON HEAD WINE FESTIVAL. After searching in the web, they send me to your web page, but I haven’t been able to find anything on it about the Wine Festival. Would you be so kind to tell me where I can find something about it (awards, dates, etc.). Thank you very much for your help. Yours sincerely, María Montes (gestion@adico.es).

Is there a cost at the gate to Harbour Town? If so, what is it? What is the best time to go out for late afternoon, early eve entertainment for family? Any info on Shelter Cove or Harbour Town during the Memorial weekend and that week? Thank you very much for any assistance (MParks@KSLAW.com).

Coming memorial weekend, we are celebrating a couple of 30th birthdays.....looking to do some watersports.....best recomendations for a group......(soley00@yahoo.com).

Are there any shows during May 28 and June 3, 2005? We prefer musicals. What is going on in Hilton Head at that time?. I would appreciate any information that you can give (quita9@juno.com).

Hello, I recently made a visit to Hilton Head Island, and noticed that there were no signs that we could see that told where the Beach was. We drove an extra 10 miles trying to find it, and had to finally stop and ask someone where it was. I was just wondering if their was someone I could contact, that could possibly put up signs for vistors/tourists in the future. The beach was BEAUTIFUL and its a very nice place!! I loved it all, except for us having to drive the extra miles because we never saw any signs. Thanks so much, Sharon (freedommarcheson@yahoo.com).

My son is working for Dr. Tudor Dragulascu and needs a place to rent.  He was living with my brother-in-law but he just sold his place.  My son almost had a furnished place at South Beach -Sea Pines but the deal fell through.  He was renting it for $750/month.  He, hopefully, only needs a place for one year as he is waiting to get in dental school.  Could you please help him??  Thank you (tdjb@comporium.net).

We will be relocating to Bluffton in July 2005 and are looking for babysitting services for our 18 month old (nights and weekends).  Anyone with suggestions can email (mlg120@aol.com).

I am browsing around your sites on HHI. . .looking for a long term (one year) rental in a "gated community" . This is for a future commitment. . .just begining to browse . . . along the Atlantic coast.   Thank You for your input (conniegeo@comcast.net).

Hi There. We will be spending our 3rd summer vacation on your beautiful island. This time we have added one more child to our family and need some babysitter? We will be vacationing 7/2-7/16 and wonder how we can find someone. Thanks (allisonrabrams@comcast.net).

We haven't been to HHI since 6/2000 and are planning to come this year.  Have there been any major changes?  We will stay in Sea Pines, as always (Hhdreamn2@aol.com).

Where can you go to snorkel at Hilton Head Island? Terri Baker. (terri_baker2003@yahoo.com).

What can we expect for weather temperature, etc.  Also, is "Easter Break" week going to be moderately or very crowded on the island.  We have reservations at the Old Fort Pub for dinner one evening --- do most restaurants require a reservation?   Thank you (LSchne1947@aol.com).

Good morning: I am planning to be in Hilton Head from March 19th to April  1st (leaving our cold and snow behind tomorrow) - coming from Canada. My husband and i would like to play some golf, and I know that HH is a golf mecca.    However we are not in a position to pay $75.00 plus, each, to play a round of golf, especially since we would like to play at least five games while we are there. Would you be able to tell us the names of some golf courses which are reasonably priced. We can play afternoon, evenings, or anytime. We are looking forward very much to visiting your lovely island. Thanks a lot. Hopefully I will hear from you today. Eveline Newberry (eveline@ripnet.com).

WILL THERE BE LIVE CONCERTS ON THE TENNIS COURTS  AT SEA PINES THIS SUMMER LIKE IN THE PAST LIKE  THE BEACH BOYS ETC.  THANKS LET ME KNOW (benoy@mics.net).

I am coming March 25th for my first time. Is there a good place to kiteboard from, are the conditions conducive? A good indicator is do people windsurf there? The sports require similar conditions however kite surfing requires less wind speed. Please advise. Sincerely Bill (Makodreaming@aol.com).

Greetings, I hope you may be able to help me.  At one time, there was a shop near Hilton Head that sold Scottish apparel.  I don't remember the name of the shop and long distance directory assistance can't help. I'd very much like to know if the shop is still there and, if so, I'd appreciate it if you could send me their phone number. I do hope this is not too much of an imposition. Your web page is very nicely done.I particularly like the ease in finding information about Hilton Head. Thank you for any assistance you can give me. Judith Chappel Huntington, WV (judychapp1@yahoo.com).

We are visiting Hilton Head on April 2, 2005, and are staying at the Marriott Beach and Golf Resort.  This facility does not allow us to bring our puppy who will be 5 months old at the time we arrive.  Do you have any information on doggy day cares or  boarding facilities we could contact? Thank you for your assistance. Linda Howard (howard29@cox.net).

We will be visiting HHI at the end of Aug. 2005.  How is the surfing?  Are surfers allowed on any beach, or just certain ones?  I have read allot about other water sports but could find very little about surfing.  Any information will be appreciated (pbac@safeplace.net).

I am not real sure if this is the website I need, but I have a question about Public Beach access. I am getting married in May of 2006 at a beach house in Beaufort, and there is a small public beach access directly beside the house. I am wondering if there is any way of using the beach access for the wedding just for that day. I will need a little extra room for parking and it would be a great help if I could use it. If you could help me or at least point me in the direction of who I would need to speak to, I would greatly appreciate it!! Thanks for all of your help with this matter. Toni Caulder, CPhT phone: 803-366-6626. Email: toni@baseworx.net .

Hi i want to know where paris hilton will be in march (dmedeiros@rogers.com).

Hello, We will be on Hilton Head (which we love ) from April 9th for one week and would like to know what the price of fresh shrimp is at that time of year? Thankyou. Linda Elrick (lindae@nbnet.nb.ca).

Hi. Would you be able to provide me with nightlife venues that have live entertainment and would be interested in having a new band play? Ed Piorkowski. thanks(EJP1125@aol.com).

Hello: Just saw your web site and was amazed to see so much information about Hilton Head Island. We will be coming down to Hilton Head on March 11/05 for a weeks vacation. I was wondering if there is anywhere on the island where you can rent motorized scooters or mopeds? Also can you tell me where the golf courses are for those people who are beginners and not into serious golfing. I know there are many public courses around but what course do you recommend for a fun time that's not too expensive. Also, will there be any St. Patricks Day activities on the Island during the week? Thanks for your help.I have been told that there is a boat day trip to Savannah. Do you have any info on this? Thanks Art O'Hare (Art O\'Hare [ohare@tds.net).

WILL THERE BE LIVE CONCERTS ON THE TENNIS COURTS  AT SEA PINES THIS SUMMER LIKE IN THE PAST LIKE  THE BEACH BOYS ETC.  THANKS LET ME KNOW (benoy@mics.net).

We recently purchased a timeshare and wondered if anyone had tried the Marriott ones on HH.  Also, what time of year is the best to enjoy the beach and golf?  Any vacation ideas would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!! Fred & ccalvin@iowatelecom.net.

When do the swimming pools in places like Hickory Cove and Water Oak, Palmetto Dunes typically open for the season?  I say April, my wife says March 1.   Any info is appreciated. Ted Ritter Westfield, NJ (TRitter@njtpa.org).

We are planning to be vacationing in Hilton Head April 1 - April 4 and are interested in renting mopeds.  Can you provide me with the names of some vendors and/or prices on mopeds? Thank you. Jerra Kendrick (Hkendrick@carolinarr.com).

We are taking a family trip 2/25 – 3/04.  Our son is graduating from Marine Bootcamp on 3/04 but we’re going down a few days earlier with the rest of our kids to enjoy the area. Hopefully someone can point us in the right direction. We're interested in: Family activities, A nice family beach to spend some time, Nice family restaurants, Sight seeing, Museums, Nice cruise to see some ocean life, etc. Thanks for any input you can give us. Howard (simmons@hws.edu).

Interested in purchasing FSBO at Fiddler's Cove or Stone's Throw. Please email to (hatbrieger@aol.com).

Been coming to HHI for summer vacation each year since 97 and staying at Grande Ocean.  Our 4 (now adult I think) children are hooked on the place and typical bring a friend/spouse with them. It's been getting a bit crowded, but we still have a great time each year.   My wife and I slipped away Thanksgiving week this year and flew down ourselves.  Stayed at the "heel" this time, Barony Beach.  We really enjoyed this time of year also and rented bikes for the week. We have now been to the "entire" beach, all of it.  And we have a wonderful time doing it.    Shopping, dining, and relaxing….I don’t think there is a bad time at all to visit.  Cant wait until 6/24/2005. Ric and Denise Kirchner Dayton,OH (rockdayton@aol.com).

We are looking to vacation in Hilton Head again this summer. We have been coming to the island for 12 years now but have never stayed in the Port Royal area. The home we are looking to rent is 5 Urchin Manor in the Bradley Beach area. Since this area is just being developed and the home is a new construction we are concerned that there will be a lot of construction mess around. Do you have any information on this area as to what type of condition it is in. We have always stayed in one of the plantations and not down on the heel of of the island. Any information that you could provide on this area would be very helpful. Thank you. Sincerely, Rhonda (Neelyrjn@vigoschools.org).

I will be visiting Hilton Head from 6/10 – 6/18 this year.  I am an avid fisherman, not a golfer.  I would like to speak with someone who is quite knowledgeable on the fishing on the island.  Specifically: What type(s) of fishing is available on the island, around the island (Surf fishing), and off shore. What should I bring as to rod and reel combinations? What tackle (Lures, weights, sinkers) should I bring? What will the fishing be like while I’m there and what species I should concentrate on? Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Tom (sparky250@voyager.net).

Hi,  we would like to access the Calendar of Events in a form that can be read as a list by date rather than on different pages as it is when you actually have the Island Events booklet in hand. The Calendar of Events used to be readily accessible on this website up until late Fall of 2004.  We liked to use the calendar at the beginning of each month to scan the events that would occur when we had guests staying for a vacation in our villa.  Most guests would always thank us for providing this info to them.  Please advise if this Calendar of Events is still on the website.  Thank you. Doug Hartlove (jdhcth@rcn.com).

We will be coming to HHI in late May with my parents and my children ( 3 1/2 and 6 months).  Can you send me a visitors guide(s)?  We will be staying at the Disney Resort (kimg10@yahoo.com).

I wanted to see if you knew when the Spring Break is for the surrounding areas. We were trying to plan a trip to Hilton Head in March and were hoping to not mix with all the spring breakers (mjtrimm@yahoo.com).

It would be great if your site had web-cams. It would be so nice to "visit" when we can't be there!! (jones8491@netzero.com).

My husband, myself and our four year old daughter are coming to HH the last week of February. Is this a good time to golf and also what type of hotel is the hilton head plaza, will it be worth the stay? what is the average temp in february? thanks holly (holly_tab@yahoo.com).

Are there any yarn stores on the island? I knit and would like to find a store near HHI. Thank you (bmg126@aol.com).

When is a good time to go to Hilton Head? I booked a flight for Feb... is that too cold? What is the weather like in that month? Can I still get some sun? (annemieke1112@yahoo.com).

Are there any good winter activities to do on hhi? my wife and i and two small children were thinking of visiting after christmas, or is hilton head mainly a beach vacation place (reneeh425@yahoo.com).

We are coming down for our honey moon May 22-28th. I would like if you could email me a list of events that will be going on at that time! Thank you Crystal (onelovevw@verizon.net).

Hi - We've been coming to HHI for summer vacations, but this winter we decided to try it at Christmas time as well. I was wondering if anyone knew of a babysitter (teenager, college student, grandma!) who might be available for a few occasions sometime in the two weeks over Christmas? Santa still has some last minute things to finish up. The children are 7 and 5. Thanks! (dmnelson@orisys.com).

I am assuming from information that I am finding on the web that the Salty Dog Cafe is not really a cafe at all. I spotted their logo yesterday and was interested enough to find out. Please reply to (rssterling2004@yahoo.com).

My husband's company is planning on sending the employees and families to Hilton Head Island Jan. 07-Jan. 09. Is there any fun activities for families in Hilton Head or the surrounding areas? We do not enjoy golfing (mini-golf maybe), and would like to find something fun to do. Any help would be greatfully appreciated. Thank you Dolly Casto (jackndolly@yahoo.com).

Need 1 bedroom rental for month of January. Must permit small 12 yr. old poodle in unit. Near beach required (andrea@knollgroup.com).

Hello I am considering travel to Hilton Head from Northern CA with my family next year, 2005 and want to know the best time of year to visit? I would like to come when it is warm enough to swim in the ocean, but not when we have to worry about hurricanes, is that possible? I will be traveling with my 2 sons, ages 6 and 8, are there things for them to do? Thanks for your help - Amanda Loew (aloew@surewest.net).

I visited HHI in August and I absolutely loved it. I am in college and a couple of friends and I are planning on coming down in the summer of 2005 to work and play for the whole summer. I have been trying to find a place to stay and I can only find weekly rentals. Any suggestions on finding a 3 month rental?? Also, we are planning on coming down in March to find jobs and hopefully secure a place to live. Is this too early/late?? Thank you! (linzard11984@msn.com).

Where can I find By Owner listings....I feel that the real estate agents are buying all properties and then churning the properties for a trememndous profit making the market unreasonable for purchasing a house. It seems unethical and the newspaper should be brave enough to do a story on what is happening! (srwaldman@aol.com).

Just a message to pass along to Hilton Head Elementary School. We noticed a sign outside of the school while we were recently biking past. It talked about Thanksgiving and included the word "turkies" -- it would be a great idea to have words on a sign outside of a school spelled correctly. And just for the schools information, turkeys is spelled "turkeys" not "turkies". Could you please relay this message to the school sign maker. Thanks. A Concerned Visitor (sportyjoan@comcast.net).

We are going to stay during 12/17-12/25. Can anyone please offer a tip on how to find a tennis partner on the island? Also, does anyone know a place to fish? Nothing ambitious here, just want to give a three-year-old some excitement (arthur@easterndigest.com).

I have never been to Hilton Head , but would like to book a few days in December ( 10-14 ). What is the typical temperature for golfing and I would like a high end type accomodation with fine dining & a spa if possible. Suggestions please. Many Thanks (mryan_cps@hotmail.com).

Hi, I have been using this website for several years in order to send island events for particular weeks when we have guests visiting the island. You have before this November listed all the events for the whole month. Today I found that you no longer do that, or else if you do I was not able to locate the list under Events Calendar of Activities-Local. Can you please let me know where I can find the whole month of activities on one page rather than downloading 72 individual pages of the Island Events Magazine. Thank you. Carol Hartlove (jdhcth@rcn.com).

We've been going to HHI for over 14 years and have never once been disappointed. I have never once seen a comment about Leon's French Bakery in Pineland Station. Believe me, if you enjoy true french pastries, especially authentic croissants, you have to try them. We skip breakfast and load up on french bread (baguettes) and flavored croissants from Leon's...you won't be disappointed. Michael D (PGH to ATL) (mjditri@aol.com).

My family and I (2kids 5 and 3 years old.) are going to hiltonhead island this Dec.24-31, for the first time. We have know idea what to do So if you have any info more events sight ect. for over christmas please email them to me or where i can get the info thanks! (harleyd@innernet.net).

I lost a Ross Fly-fishing Reel in the Beach Parking lot At Coligny Plaza/Beach it is engraved with my boy friends name. I was wondering if you ran free lost and found ads? My name is Sean Cornell and I live in the UK. I am getting married to Karen in September 2005 and am coming out to HHI on September 5th for 12 nights. I am slightly worried that this is during hurricane season. How often do the hurrincanes hit HHI? Does the island have to be evacuated often for the hurricanes or to do they tend to miss? We are going to be staying in the Hilton Head Marriott as it looks more friendly than the Westin Resort. Do you think that is right? Or do you think the Westin is a better place to stay? see you all in september next year! (sean.cornell@btopenworld.com).

Is there a Map of Hilton Head that I can send for?? We will be there in September of 2005. Thanks Susie Evans (susie1435@aol.com).

Hi! We will be visiting Hilton Head the week after Christmas. I'm trying to look for suggestions or activities that are available during that time. Also, we will be traveling with kids, so I wanted to know if there is anything interesting for them going on. Thanks, Maite (nunezprt@bellsouth.net).

I was in Hilton Head Sept 28-Oct 9 and want to comment about two women who were "walking" with their dogs on the beach between the Tiki Hut and Sea Pines (Near the Marriott Grand Ocean)on what I think was the morning of Oct 5th. One had a yellow lab, the other a Golden Retriever named Woody. Woody came up to my husband from behind, jumped on his back and slobbered all over him, chased a man who was power walking and jumped on him and wouldn't leave him alone, and worst of all, ran up to an approx. 2-yr old child, jumped on the child and knocked him down, causing him to scream and cry- the owner could not control the dog at all. She seemed frantic to get the dog away from the poor kid but was not successful. The mother picked up the screaming baby, who is now probably traumatized and afraid of dogs for life. What a joke that neither of these women had a leash for the dogs- there is NO WAY they, particularly Woody were under voice control. It was a joke how many ! times she called the dog's name and he never once listened. Had a seen a beach patrol, I would have reported them. I'm a dog lover and don't blame the dog, but the owner certainly looked ignorant that day (SMndz8@hotmail.com).

We are heading down there on thursday and I am wondering if someone knows if it is still warm enough to swim (keeliabug@hotmail.com).

We stay in a condo that does not have a computer. Is there anywhere on HHI that offers computer (able to run Excel program) and fax machine access (kaficker@fuse.net).

Yours is the best site I've found for travelers to Hilton Head Island. Thanks (Squeakups@aol.com).

My husband & I are looking for a 2 bedroom/2 bath villa/condo to rent for the month of February through an owner. We really like South Beach and ocean view would be a plus. We love biking & tennis also. Anyone have recommendations? Thanks Chris (peach250@aol.com).

With all the hurricanes hitting Florida I was wondering how Hilton Head has survived all the storms. We are coming down October 23rd for a week. Please let me know Many thanks G. Till (pnamoksrs@aol.com).

We've been up and down the Carolina coast and finally settled on HHI. There are so many places to visit each trip you never tire of the the numerous activities and restaurants. Rent bikes and enjoy the miles of bike paths. Search the internet and do a boat trip to some of the marshes or natural areas. Bring a good book and just veg out on the beach. Strolling along this beautiful while sand at sunrise does the soul good. We finally gave in and bought a condo in Shipyard (ddent01@email.com).

My husband and I will be visiting Hilton Head again for a week in early October 2004. We workout at the YMCA three times a week at home and would like to know if there is a fitness center that permits visitors to pay to use their facility once or twice while we are here. Thanks! (grywalski2@juno.com).

Hi, We are planning a vacation to Hilton Head in October. I was wondering if there are any places that have horseback riding available to the public? Thanks- V. Seiler (vseiler@hersheys.com).

We are planning a honeymoon trip to Hilton Island and we are planning to stay at the Main Street Inn. Does anyone have any comments about the Inn Good or Bad. Also we are thinking of taking a cruise on one of the many cruise. which cruises are the best? We are also thinking of going horse back riding along the beach. Could anyone give any suggestions on these activities and any other activities we should try. Thanks a Bunch!!!! (Kala_A_98@Yahoo.com).

I can't believe no one has mentioned Kenny-B's....it's the absolute best! I think they have the best seafood in Hilton Head not to mention the rest of their menu. I guess it is sorta hidden from most folks (dryan@nclutheran.org).

There are beautiful villas right across from the beach in South Forest Beach, where the owners work together and can rent out several units together. Tanglewood Villas, 2 bedroom units with a pool, ~150 yards to the sand and everything else you'll need. Derek 404-275-2800 (thekuipers@comcast.net).

My family and I are coming to Hilton Head on Friday august 27th for a 1 week vacation. We have been vacationing here for the past 4 years and have never tried surf fishing. I am looking for any suggestions or recommendations to give this a try. Thanks.... Steve (holds2@juno.com).

Well, my parents have a place on HHI and I have been several times. I am a single woman and have gone on trips many times with girlfriends. We would highly recommend Aunt Chilada's for great, inexpensive Mexican fare. It's always a must for us. Old Oyster Facotry can't be beat when it comes to food, ambience and service. We also always take in a dolphin tour with Commander Zodiac out of South Beach. They have extremely knowledgable guides and on the Zodiac boats you get a very up close and personal experience on the water. Mini golf at one of the Legendary courses is also a must. Sunset sail on Stars & Stripes can't be missed. For good old fashioned pizza that's always worth the wait, take in some Giuseppi's. I think that will do for my recommendations for now. At least until my next trip (cscott34@hotmail.com).

Where can I get one of the oval HHI stickers? (jmrhyne@duke-energy.com0.

I need 18 rental units for the parents and age 15 girls soccer team that will be playing in the Wendys soccer tourney. We will need the rentals starting on Sept 17th and checking out on Sept 19th 2004. We prefer to have them all in one complex. Phone # 770-640-6254 e-mail (RobSauder@cs.com).

Looking for work on or close by HHI. I am a certified Personal Trainer as well as Massage Therapist. My husband does all around home improvement & mechanical repairs. We are flexible & hard working. Mid to late Nov this year would be ideal for us to start Thank u so much, John & Joanne Sawyer (waistmgt@tmail.net).

I am writing on behalf of St. Mary’s School located in Johnson City, Tennessee. St. Mary’s is a private school and does not receive state funding. Subsequently, each year we host an auction that is our largest fundraiser. Our next auction is set for April 23, 2005 and will be held at St. Mary’s School. All proceeds from the auction go toward school maintenance, continued improvements to the facilities, geothermal heating and air conditioning, our aftercare program, and any other special needs that may be identified for the school and our students. We also use these funds to purchase instructional materials and library books. In essence, our children benefit directly from the success of our fundraising efforts. I would like to ask the community if there is anyone who may be willing to donate a week vacation (accommodations for two) that we may offer in our auction next April. We only ask that the valid dates for any donated days fall within the timeframe of June - December 2005. Our school provides a tax deductible gift form for this donation (donations are 100% tax deductible). We are grateful for any donation and appreciate your consideration. Please feel free to contact me at 423-292-5300 or E-mail me should you require additional information or to discuss a possible donation. Kindest regards, Holly Hampton Donations Committee (hhampton@preferred.com).

I am interested in renting a property for the summer of 2005. I am further interested in renting from the owner of a home. I will need at least six bedrooms and would prefer to be in Sea Pines, although Shipyard Plantation, Palmetto Dunes, or South Forest Beach would be just fine. Ideally I would like to be very close to the ocean. If there is anyone who is interested in thisplease contact me. I am an elderly lady who has been going to Hilton Head for years with my family, but to rent through a real estate agency has just become just too expensive for me.With my children and their spouses and grandchildren there would be 16 of us. A home would be great, but if I could get two villas, side by side that would serve as well (sheareader5@comcast.net).

NEVER BEEN TO HILTON HEAD BEFORE, CANT WAIT TO GET THEIR. WE ARE ARRIVING ON AUG, 23 AND LEAVING ON AUG 27 WE HAVE A 3YEAR OLD DAUGHTER AND WAS LOOKING FOR SUGGESTION OTHER THAN THE BEACH,?. IS THEIR ANY SPECIAL EVENTS GOING ON THAT WEEK? OR COULD ANYONE RECOMEND ANY TOURS,FUN IDEAS, ECT. THANK YOU SO MUCH (rustyolds1972@aol.com).

STOP TAXING OUR PROPERTY The only solution to property tax relief is to repeal all property taxes, real & personal. The school boards, county councils and city councils would not like this as they now have an unlimited money supply. The more they want, the more they take. They have a permanent unrecorded lien on your property. You will never own your property, even after it is paid off. We need to do the following: 1. Repeal all property taxes, both real and personal. 2. Repeal all sales tax exemptions. For 2004-2005, South Carolina would receive a $1.3 billion increase in revenue. 3. Raise sales tax by three percent (3%). This would bring an additional $2.4 billion in revenue. 4. Disband all local tax assessor's and tax collection offices. This would reduce the budget by $300 million. 5. Make a constitutional amendment to make it very hard to bring back property taxes. The total additional monies available would $4.0 billion. Property taxes collected in the State, based on 2003 figures, were approximately $3.7 billion. This would give the State an additional $300 million to use for schools. Do you want to permanently do away with all property taxes? The taxpayers should be allowed to vote on this. The current legislature will not do this, so we need a new legislature made up of South Carolinians who want to make a change to stop this evil tax. We need to vote the legislators out of office. They will tax us out of our homes because property taxes will never go down. They need to be abolished and never be allowed to come back. More than 70% of the current legislators are unopposed in this election. Do you want the same ones again? They can raise sales tax which is the easiest to do. The counties and cities will raise property taxes even more. We need to have statewide write-ins to elect new legislators who will commit to doing away with property taxes. If interested or willing to help, email info@stoptax.org, visit our website at http://www.stoptax.org, call David R. Whetsell (803) 957-8694, or contact Stop Tax, P.O. Box 84102, Lexington, SC 29073 (paralegal_36@netzero.com).

I have been going to Hilton Head for 25 years and have watched it change but it is still laid back and beautiful. One of my favorite places to eat is the Sea Shack. It is very informal but the food is excellent and the staff is very friendly. Alot of locals go there and we were told about it by our maintence man about 6 years ago. It has been a well kept secret (bardabbs@msn.com).

I'm a 34 year veteran of broadcast management and consulting and am interested in starting up a non-profit totally LOCAL OWNED AND OPERATED radio station dedicated, exclusively to the needs and problems of Hilton Head Island. Email me and I'll send you the plan. Chuck (chucklangley@hiltonheadisland.com).

My three sons and I are looking for a vacation place where we can gather from all parts of the US and spend an relaxing vacation together. We'd need 5-6 bedrooms for 7 adults and five kids. Any suggestions? (GrAndy91@aol.com).

We are planning a family 4-5 day, 50th wedding anniversary celebration in late Aug-Sep, 2005. We are a family of 17, 12 adults, 5 children. The children's ages are:1,3,5,9,and 10 years old. We are looking for accommodations to house the 6 families at a location that features children activities across the age spectrum as well as nite life for the adults. Although these needs can most likely be met at the principal resorts ,our preference would be for activities and housing contained in a different environment , perhaps with short provided rides to activities and entertainment. Might you or your advertisers respond to this request both with regard to suggestions to fulfill accommodation and activities-children activities preferably separated from the adults. Thank you, Ernie Tesconi (etesconi@att.net).

We highly recommend the Boathouse II restaurant for seafood. The atmosphere was pleasant, food was good and service excellent. We would also recommend you stay away from Café Europa. Mike Ramsey
