Schools in Beaufort County South Carolina began classes on  8/17/09 for the 2009/2010 School year.

FIREWORKS ARE OVER FOR THE SUMMER

The annual Summer Fireworks display at Shelter Cove held each Tuesday evening at 9pm have ended for this year.

2009 VERIZON HERITAGE PGA GOLF TOURNAMENT
April 13 - 19, 2009

Brian Gay won the 2009 Verizon Heritage. He set several records including lowest score, fewest boogies (2) and the largest margin of Victory. He also has qualified for next years Masters Tournament. The top 5 finishers were:

Todd Hamilton -9
Lee Janzen -9

Boo Weekley, the Winner of the 2007 and 2008 Heritage was  -5.

 Palmetto Pass~New Toll rates!

As of March 31, 2008 new toll rates went into effect at the Cross Island Parkway toll facilities. 

Cash Lanes will be charged $1.25 at the main plaza and $1.00 at Marshland Road

Palmetto Pass Program (PAL) account holders will still receive a 50 cent discount at the main plaza and the ramps at Marshland Road.  The new PAL rates will be 75 cents at the main plaza and 50 cents at the ramps at Marshland Road.
