BOO WEEKLEY WINS THE VERIZON HERITAGE GOLF TOURNAMENT FOR THE 2ND YEAR IN A ROW

The 2008 Verizon Heritage Golf Tournament began  (4/17/08) at Harbour Town Golf Links.. The Leaders after Round 1, at -5, were Justin Leonard (a previous winner), Davis Love III (a previous winner) and Lucas Glover.

The Golf Channel broadcast Rounds 1 & 2 on Thursday and Friday from 3-6pm and 8:30-11:30pm. CBS broadcast the weekend action.

After the 2nd Day, the Leader was Lucas Glover, a Clemson, SC graduate with a -10. 2nd was last years winner Boo Weekly and Anthony Kim was 3rd with a -8. 

At the end of Round 3 on Saturday, the leaders were Boo Weekley at -15, Anthony Kim at -12 and Aaron Baddeley at -10.

After the final Round on Sunday, Boo Weekley had successfully defended his title from last year. Boo ended up -15. Aaron Baddeley and Anthony Kim tied for 2nd place at -12. Jim Furyk finished 4th at -11, Cliff Kresge 5th at -10 and Jason Bohn was 6th at -9.

The hardest hole for the Tournament was #14, a par 3 and the easiest hole was #5, a par 5.

 Palmetto Pass~New Toll rates!

As of March 31, 2008 new toll rates will go into effect at the Cross Island Parkway toll facilities. 

Cash Lanes will be charged $1.25 at the main plaza and $1.00 at Marshland Road

Palmetto Pass Program (PAL) account holders will still receive a 50 cent discount at the main plaza and the ramps at Marshland Road.  The new PAL rates will be 75 cents at the main plaza and 50 cents at the ramps at Marshland Road.

2008 ST. PATRICK'S DAY PARADE

The Town of Hilton Head Island's St. Patrick's Day Parade was held on Sunday, March 16th, beginning at 3:30PM. Over 20,000 people attended.
